Observational Astronomy (OA) is "an inclusive community of Visual Astronomers, Astrophotographers, Telescope Makers, and more!"
The focus is on observing the real sky, not just space news. Members help each other choose a first telescope, plan sessions around the Moon and weather, and process astrophotography with stacking software. Telescope makers are part of the community too.
Visual observers and astrophotographers often need different advice, one about eyepieces and dark skies, the other about mounts, cameras and processing, and both groups are represented here.
It is a smaller server, with about 13,000 members.
